Organized by the Student Parliament of the Gymnasium in Inđija, a humanitarian five-a-side football tournament was held on May 8 with the goal of raising funds for the Summer School “Kosovsko Pomoravlje,” intended for children from Kosovo and Metohija.

The tournament brought together a large number of students, both participants and supporters. Throughout the day, the atmosphere was filled with cheering, laughter, and positive energy. The desire to help those in need through sport was felt everywhere.
Humanity as the Greatest Victory
Although there was plenty of competitive spirit on the field, the event showed that unity and humanity are far more important than winning.
Teams rotated throughout the tournament, and every match was followed by loud support from the stands. The students demonstrated incredible energy, fair play, and strong team spirit. Many who did not participate in the competition still came to support the initiative and leave voluntary donations in the donation box.
Funds Raised for the Summer School “Kosovsko Pomoravlje”
The funds collected during the tournament will be donated to support the realization of the Summer School “Kosovsko Pomoravlje” — a program that allows children from Kosovo and Metohija to spend part of their summer through friendship, educational workshops, sports activities, and time in nature.
Supporting children from Kosovo and Metohija
For many of these children, the summer school is an opportunity to make new friendships, feel a sense of belonging, and experience the childhood that every child deserves.
The students emphasized how important it is for children from Kosovo and Metohija to receive support and the opportunity to grow up in better conditions. Many of them face various difficulties and limitations every single day.
“That is why this initiative means so much to us. It is our contribution toward giving children from Kosovo and Metohija the childhood they deserve — a childhood many are trying to take away from them.”
They also added that, as students, they feel a responsibility to offer support because they believe education is one of the most important things in life and should never depend on the circumstances in which someone grows up.
“Even though kilometers separate us, that does not stop us from showing solidarity and understanding.”

What made this tournament truly special was the strong sense of togetherness that could be felt everywhere — from the players on the field, to the students cheering from the stands, and everyone who helped organize the event. Each person became part of a beautiful and meaningful story in their own way.
During the humanitarian action, a total of 85,400 dinars was collected.
The Student Parliament of the Gymnasium in Inđija once again showed that when young people unite around the right cause, they can inspire meaningful and powerful change.
