4th Kosovo-Pomoravlje Summer School Begins in Štrpce

The 4th Kosovo Pomoravlje Summer School has begun, and this year, too, it is being held in Štrpce, beneath the Šar Mountains.

This year’s camp brings together 40 children from Kosovo and Metohija, from Kosovska Kamenica, the Vitina and Gnjilane areas, central Kosovo, and the surrounding area of Štrpce. Over the course of seven days, the children will spend time together, learn through play, enjoy nature, and take a break from screens.

The workshops focus on countries around the world, etiquette, the Serbian language, music, and sports. This year’s program is once again being carried out with the support of the NTC Learning System developed by Prof. Dr. Ranko Rajović.

A heartfelt thank you to all the donors who have supported this unique program for children from Serbian communities in Kosovo and Metohija once again this year. It means so much to us that people from Serbia and abroad recognize how important it is for children here to experience a sense of togetherness and freedom right where they live. We want them to see their home region from a different perspective — as a place where they can learn so much, connect with their peers, and discover something truly magnificent, such as Visoki Dečani, Gračanica, or the Church of the Virgin of Ljeviška.

The Summer School runs from July 31 to August 6. During their stay, the children will explore locations throughout the Šar Mountains, play beside mountain streams, take part in workshops, and learn about the natural, spiritual, and cultural heritage of Kosovo and Metohija. On the feast day of St. Elijah, the children will attend a liturgy in Štrpce. On August 3, the Summer School will welcome archaeologist Prof. Marko Aleksić, who will introduce the children to the fascinating world of archaeology and medieval knights through an engaging lecture.

This year’s day trip will take the children to Prizren and the Monastery of the Holy Archangels, one of the most significant sites in Serbian history and spirituality.

The Kosovo Pomoravlje Summer School is organized entirely through donations to the Kosovo Pomoravlje Humanitarian Organization. Thanks to the support of our donors, children from Serbian communities in Kosovo and Metohija once again have the opportunity to spend seven days enjoying friendship, learning, play, nature, and a strong sense of community.
