Christmas Gift Distribution in Kosovska Kamenica with Volunteers from Belgrade
As part of the continued Christmas gift distribution, volunteers from central Serbia Đorđe, Jelena, and Damjan joined the humanitarian actions of the Kosovo Pomoravlje organization. On this occasion, they became familiar with the Kosovska Kamenica area and visited the Serbian villages of Bosce, Strelica, Bratilovce, Donje Močare, and Kololeč.
For the volunteers, this was their first fieldwork experience, and it proved to be deeply emotional. The warm hospitality of the families we visited, the joy of the children, and the strong determination of the local people to remain on their ancestral land left a particularly strong impression.
Gift Distribution to Children in Kosovska Kamenica
During the action, 50 Christmas gift packages were distributed to children from one year of age up to the fourth grade of primary school. The smiles and sincere joy of the youngest were the greatest reward for everyone involved in the initiative.

My impression is that every person, wherever they live, has a need for the beauty of life to create it and to experience it. Two things stood out to me the most. First, stepping toward another person through personal initiative consciously and decisively approaching others for their sake. Giving a part of ourselves does not make us poorer; on the contrary, it enriches us. This is when the words of Filaret of Moscow prove true: “O Divine Teacher, do not let me be comforted, but let me comfort others; not to be understood, but to understand others; not to be loved, but to love others. For when we forgive, we are forgiven; when we give, we receive; and when we die, we are born into eternal life.” Second, the moment when our will is accepted through an embrace, an extended hand, or a smile is a blessing especially the acceptance by children, unburdened by vanity. What both moments share is that they ennoble the soul. And only then, when a relationship is formed through a clear and conscious initiative of goodness at Christmas or any other time does one feel that life has fulfilled its potential, at least in part.

I visited Kosovo and Metohija for the first time on a truly beautiful occasion the distribution of Christmas gifts to children. My husband and I participated together in this humanitarian action. We visited remote villages in the municipality of Kosovska Kamenica. For me, this was an indescribable experience, an opportunity to reflect on the people around us and to bring joy to children with Christmas gifts. I was especially touched by the smiles and gratitude on the children’s faces. In addition to the beautiful nature and picturesque churches and monasteries, I had the opportunity to meet many intelligent, interesting, and very brave people. The families we visited are large, with many children, and all were incredibly hospitable. I felt at home, and my heart was full. My strongest impression is that people living in Kosovo and Metohija may not have everything materially, but they are immensely rich in spirit and content with what they have and what God has given them. My message to everyone is to come to Kosovo and Metohija, to get to know their roots and visit our people because it truly means a great deal to them
Visit to the renovated school in Bratilovce
In the village of Bratilovce, where one family with five children currently lives, we also visited the primary school renovated by the Kosovo Pomoravlje Humanitarian Organization. It is in this very school that the first and second Summer Schools of our organization were held, implemented since 2023.
