Let’s give for Easter

Easter is approaching, the day when our Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead, conquered death, and granted eternal life to all people on earth. The Kosovo Pomoravlje Humanitarian Organization has decided, ahead of this year’s Easter celebration, to launch a campaign collecting voluntary contributions for Easter gifts for the most vulnerable Serbian families in Kosovo Pomoravlje. Our goal is to enrich the Easter tables of our fellow countrymen with treats, such as Easter eggs and other delights that Orthodox Christians celebrate on this joyful day. At the break of Christ’s Resurrection, the bells of Orthodox churches across Kosovo and Metohija will ring out long and loud, announcing the arrival of this great holiday. By God’s grace, even today, after centuries of suffering for Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, many families will attend the holy Easter liturgy together. This year’s Easter celebration across Serbia recalls the atmosphere in which this great Christian holiday was observed in the southern province years after the war. Quietly, in their homes, without relatives or friends, with faith and joy, but also with fear… Unfortunately, among our brothers who remained to live and raise their children on the centuries-old Serbian homeland, there are those who, beyond incense, Easter hymns, and prayers, have nothing to brighten the day for their little ones with a festive Easter table. Due to major economic and political problems that began even before the 1999 war, social differences in southern Serbia have deepened over time and are becoming more pronounced. Solidarity among people is slowly disappearing due to the exhausting individual struggle for better living conditions. The division between those who want more and those who have nothing threatens to create complete alienation and disappointment among the population. Unemployment, poverty, and thoughts of leaving have become everyday challenges, giving rise to great frustration. Empty promises have broken the trust of those who, despite all agreements, negotiations, and campaigns, have remained marginalized. Therefore, to grow in glory to our Creator and for the benefit of the Church and our homeland, let us not forget our Orthodox brothers, but do everything possible to welcome the Resurrection of our Lord together, united, with faith in salvation and eternal life. Let us show that we are sincere and proud Orthodox Christians, worthy of our name, heritage, and tradition. Our humanitarian organization calls on everyone who can support this campaign by donating through our bank account, helping preserve the faith of the Serbian people and ensuring they can remain in Kosovo and Metohija. Donations can be made via PayPal or directly to the bank account, with the note “I GIVE FOR EASTER.” Донације путем PAYPAL
