On November 14th, in the Rectorate Hall of the University of Pristina, based in Kosovska Mitrovica, we awarded 33 scholarships to students from Kosovo and Metohija.

Scholarships for Students of the University of Pristina

During the ceremonial award, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Vladimir Boranijasević welcomed the students and our organization.

“I would like to thank the Humanitarian Organization Kosovo Pomoravlje for choosing our premises to present these scholarships today, and for their long-standing humanitarian mission, supporting students and their families. In the challenging times we live in, a scholarship holds extraordinary significance. I am especially glad that thirty-three young students of the University of Pristina are receiving scholarships today. It warms my heart to see you so young and eager for knowledge. Study hard, work diligently, and remain dedicated, because knowledge always pays off. I sincerely hope these scholarships will help you study better and that, after graduation, you will find good jobs and change your lives for the better.”

The Serbian People Supporting University Students in Pristina

On behalf of our organization and the donors who support the scholarship program, Marija Vasić and Stefan Mirković addressed the attendees, congratulating the students and wishing them continued success.

“Studying at the University of Pristina, today and for decades past, represents a remarkable personal and national achievement. Through your youth, courage, creativity, and knowledge, students of this university have preserved our spark of hope and our pure striving for freedom and dignity. People of our nation, both at home and abroad, know and feel this. And even though at times it may seem that we are neglected or abandoned by many whose support we expect, may these acts of generosity in these uncertain times remind you that the Serbian people have not forgotten. The scholarships we joyfully present today come from people who see you as our future in Kosovo and Metohija—young individuals who will grow into honorable and learned people, deeply connected to their nation, rooted in their homeland, and ready to represent it to the world in the best possible way.”

Freedom of Youth through Knowledge and Education

Your freedom lies in your knowledge and in your ability to freely choose to be a better example than those around you. By setting an example, you can change the world around you, preserving your families, hometowns, faith, identity, and everything you are told is at risk or might be taken away. No one can take from you what you are able to create with God’s guidance. The only way to truly safeguard the Serbian people, institutions, and statehood here is to preserve freedom in those who will be ready to rebuild them again and again.

A Total of 70 Scholarships for Students from Kosovo and Metohija

The scholarship program of HO Kosovo Pomoravlje, as of November 2024, supports 70 students and high school pupils from Kosovo and Metohija. Our scholarship recipients study at state universities across Serbia, with the majority enrolled in Kosovska Mitrovica. We are proud that our support for education brings together young people from Kosovo Pomoravlje, Metohija, Štrpce, and Central Kosovo in this wonderful city. Among the scholarship recipients are students of medicine, literature, arts, law, economics, technical, and social sciences.

Our Gratitude

We extend special thanks to the Rectorate of the University of Pristina for their warm hospitality and honor.
