Water for the Nikolić family through ongoing donations

Thanks to regular donations, Marija Nikolić and her three children from Veliko Ropotovo, near Kosovska Kamenica, finally have running water in their home after four years. The Humanitarian Organization “Kosovsko Pomoravlje” provided the equipment and materials needed to connect the house to the water supply, worth €800.

For this family, it means an end to a long wait and a much easier everyday life. For everyone who regularly supports our work, it is another example of how much their generosity means.

Four Years Without Water at Home

Marija is a single mother raising three children. The family lives on her late husband’s minimum pension and child benefits.

After her husband’s death, she also faced problems with the water supply. The water pump broke down, and the old well became blocked. A new well had to be dug, but Marija could not afford the cost on her own.

As a result, the family spent four years without water in their home. Preparing meals, washing dishes, bathing and maintaining basic hygiene became much more difficult without access to this essential resource.

€800 Provided to Connect the House to the Water Supply

Kind-hearted people and organizations helped renovate the family’s home and dig a new well. However, the remaining task was to bring the water from the well into the house.

Although much of the work had already been completed, the cost of connecting the water supply remained an obstacle. Marija therefore turned to our organization for help.

Using funds raised through regular donations, we provided €800 to purchase a concrete inspection chamber, a pump and other essential equipment and materials. This helped complete a project the family had been waiting for so long.

Marija and her children now have water in their home and one less major worry.
