Humanitarian action for Christmas packages for children from Kosovo and Metohija

SHARE JOY – HEART TO HEART WITH SERBIA A SMILE FOR KOSOVO AND METOHIJA 2020 This year, Serbian youth and students from various cities, united through multiple organizations, came together for the humanitarian campaign “A Smile for Kosovo and Metohija” to raise funds for Christmas gift packages for children from the enclaves in Kosovo and Metohija. Under the slogan “Share Joy – Heart to Heart with Serbia”, we are launching a joint social media campaign aimed at gathering as many people as possible and encouraging those who can support our initiative. Since the number of visits to Kosovo and Metohija this year was much lower than in previous years, our goal is also to share glimpses of life in the southern Serbian province through this campaign. Everything that the COVID-19 pandemic brought to almost the entire world has also affected the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija. Many children from remote enclaves still lack basic clothing, school supplies, and toys.

Unfortunately, the circumstances caused by the pandemic prevent us from visiting our brothers and sacred sites in Kosovo and Metohija. “A Smile for Kosovo and Metohija” is a traditional humanitarian campaign organized by the Serbian Political Forum student organization at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade. This year, it was joined by members of H.O. Kosovsko Pomoravlje, the System of Values organization, the Students’ Association of Republika Srpska in Serbia, the Students’ Association of the Faculty of Political Sciences in Banja Luka, and the Digital Serbia organization, with support from associations in the diaspora and the region. The campaign runs until December 31, 2020, and the Christmas packages for children in Metohija and Kosovo Pomoravlje will be delivered by members of H.O. Kosovsko Pomoravlje from Parteš.
