Novica Maksimović, the head of one of the few remaining Serbian families in Donji Livoc near Gnjilane, recently reached out to our organization with a request for help in purchasing a cow.
Support from the Netherlands for the Maksimović Family
The Maksimović family mainly relies on farming, with Novica’s modest pension of 20,000 dinars from his former factory job. Sadly, one of their five cows recently died, which was a huge blow to their family budget.
The family’s income from selling milk and cheese decreased significantly. Since they also face high medical expenses for their younger son, this support came at just the right time.
A New Cow Arrives at the Household
Thanks to donations from our diaspora in Rotterdam, collected during a visit to their church, we were able to help the Maksimović family. A new cow has recently arrived at their household, with €1,600 allocated for its purchase.
We are deeply grateful to our people in the Netherlands for their care and love toward the Serbian community in Kosovo and Metohija. We hope this cooperation will continue to bring forth many more good deeds.
