Children from Vitina

Greetings from the Children of “Mladen Marković” Elementary School in Vitina!

The youngest students of Vitina were celebrating the first snowfall today with joyful play, and we joined them, asking what they know about Christmas and if they are excited for the upcoming holidays. It was impossible to capture all their happiness on camera during our visit, but we tried to give you a glimpse of the small churchyard where generations of children from this southern Kosovo and Metohija village grow up together.
For the students attending this school, the time spent there is often the only chance to play and socialize with peers. In this municipality, in Kosovo Pomoravlje, about 20 Serbian families live today, and the church in Vitina has become their only gathering place since the 1999 war, as the old school building was completely destroyed. By participating in this year’s “Smile for Kosmet” campaign, you can donate funds to buy Christmas gifts for the children of Vitina! SHARE JOY – HEART TO HEART WITH SERBIA! #SMILEFORKOSMET2020
