We helped Sergej and Anastasija

In Klokot, near Vitina, Jadran and Vasilija Spasić live with their children, Sergej and Anastasija, in an old and modest home. The Spasić family has recently been promised a new house. While eagerly awaiting the start of construction, all family members currently live in a single room that is cramped and uncomfortable. To make their daily life a little easier, we decided with the support of our donors from the diaspora to gift new children’s beds and a wardrobe, which will significantly save space in their home. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Violeta Zafirovski from Switzerland for her generous support. Her attention and care are directed toward vulnerable Serbian families in Kosovo and Metohija and her friendly collaboration with the Humanitarian Organization Kosovo Pomoravlje, through which assistance was recently provided to the Stojković family as well. We believe that solidarity and responsibility toward the community must be the foundation not only of our organization but also of the survival of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija. For this reason, our goals remain focused on providing the necessary material conditions for the people living here and genuinely improving the perception of the harsh living conditions of Serbs in the southern Serbian province. We are aware of the need for systemic changes that would give people hope for a better future and encourage young families to stay, but on that path, we must not forget that many households, like the Spasić family, rely solely on social assistance. Children like Sergej and Anastasija do not dream of grand things—they simply wish to sleep comfortably in their own beds before going to school. We must not give them false promises, but we must show them that they are not forgotten and that together we are working toward a happier childhood for every child. As Vuk Karadžić said: “If everyone does as much as they are able, the people will not perish.”
