Visit to the Aksić returnee family from Koretište

The Aksić family from Koretište has returned to their home after living in Belgrade for ten years. They spent a whole decade as tenants in the capital while searching for work, which was unavailable in their hometown.

They never considered selling any part of their property in Kosovo and Metohija, as they were always thinking about returning.

“We didn’t sell anything because we wanted to have a place to come back to,” the Aksić family says

The main reason for their return, according to Bojan and Maja, was to once again be on their own land—and that was only possible in their native Koretište.

Although they currently live off maternity benefits, they hope Bojan will find a job soon.

Our organization donated food, clothing, a computer for Katarina, and a tablet for Anđelija, who will start attending the “Bora Stanković” primary school in their village this year.

The return of the Aksić family was joyful news for our community. We hope many more families will follow their example, and we will always be here to welcome and support them.

If you are able, support our work and help Serbian families remain in Kosovo and Metohija!
