Life at K&M

Two years of labor of love

Love. Two years ago, in Parteš, Kosovo and Metohija, we founded the Humanitarian Organization Kosovsko Pomoravlje with this word in mind, and because of it. Out of love for our people, our homeland, and our friends, we gathered our small but united group.
Through many, still to us unexplainable, paths, we were led to people we had never met before, guided only by love for what we do and what we believe in. With that same love, kind and generous people came forward, offering us help and support, without sparing their time or effort. We saw its strength once again when all borders and administrative crossings were closed this year. It became clear that brotherly love and strong faith are truly boundless and unbreakable. Behind us is a long and uncertain period of isolation and separation from the rest of the country an experience we cannot ignore, because it taught us so much. In times of great crisis, the only thing that remains is to stand by each other and offer help to everyone, regardless of who they are, where they come from, or whether we will receive anything in return. When the hardest moments pass, we must not forget that our duty is always to love and care for one another, to forgive, to reconcile, and to lend a helping hand. Hardships come to remind us of this truth: all people share worries and struggles even humanitarians and donors. No one has excess wealth or idle time, but many have a strong will and a heartfelt need to share God’s blessings with those who have less. And if we continue to live in this way, the world will indeed be a better and more beautiful place. We thank you for helping us ensure that during the state of emergency our people in Kosovo and Metohija never lacked food, medicine, or any other aid. Most of all, thank you for making sure we did not feel forgotten. We are proud that, despite all the challenges of this year, we succeeded in launching our long-planned economic project “Buy from Kosovo”, which we now continue to grow daily together with our friends from the Digital Serbia Initiative. We are deeply grateful to all our benefactors, especially to our brothers and sisters in the diaspora, united by their love for their homeland and people. We thank the faithful brotherhoods from the monasteries in Draganac and Slanci for their prayers, kindness, and constant support of our work for the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija. We will remember this year not as a year of separation but as a year of solidarity. We hope the next one will be even more fruitful. And we believe, as Patriarch Pavle said, that what we ask from the Lord with love—that is what we shall receive! Cheers!
