The Mini Basketball Festival “Rajko Žižić” took place in Belgrade from June 7th to 9th, organized by the Mini Basketball Association of Serbia. Our Basketball School participated with three teams: boys, girls, and a mixed team. On Friday, our young players successfully faced off against peers from Belgrade. The first day ended on a high note, followed by a warm welcome at the student resort “Radojka Lakić” on Avala.
On Saturday, the competitions continued. Our teams demonstrated determination and skill against peers from Niš, Kikinda, Bijeljina, Novi Pazar, Sevojno, Bujanovac, Valjevo, Vranje, Užice, Bratunac, Šabac, Sopot, Lučani, Bečej, Velika Plana… The festival’s opening ceremony and medal and trophy presentations brought our school three trophies—one for each team. Afterward, we visited the Red Star and Partizan stadiums, as well as the Avala Tower, where our little athletes enjoyed sightseeing and socializing.
On Sunday, we visited the Monastery of St. Stefan in Slanci. The monks’ warm welcome and a concert by the choir “Metoh” left a lasting impression on everyone. The sports gifts our young players received at the end of the event delighted them all. Sports bags, basketball shoes, and complete tracksuits will ensure that our young athletes are always ready for future competitions and new victories.
The weekend in Belgrade was filled with unforgettable experiences and joy. We extend our gratitude to the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, which provided bus transportation, the student resort “Radojka Lakić” on Avala, the management teams of Red Star and Partizan clubs, and the Avala Tower administration.
