The joy and support of the Slanci Monastery

With the blessing of the Slanci Monastery, our friends, gathered in a missionary brotherhood, visited Kosovo and Metohija. Together with the music ensemble Metoh, they brought aid to families in need and paid their respects to the holy sites.

Their first stop was Draganac Monastery, where the warm hospitality of the brotherhood and people gathered around the shrine refreshed them. They say it reminded them of the love they feel among their closest ones. Joyful, they sang together with Brother Nikola Stojković and the many attendees, following a beautiful “Table of Love.”

In Gračanica, they witnessed more moments of joy—a Holy Wedding ceremony was conducted in the endowment of Saint King Milutin, serving as both the parish and community church of the local Serbian population.

Next, they traveled to Kosovo Pomoravlje, where we welcomed them as hosts in the region. Once again, they visited needy Serbian families, giving financial support of 700 euros to each household.

Visited Families in the Villages:

Slivovo: The Stanković family, with two sons. Thanks to the parents’ efforts, the older son could pursue his dream of football training. We were welcomed by Mrs. Stanković and her younger son.

Izvor, Miljkovi Hamlet: The Miljković family and their property, overlooking majestic landscapes. Noticing the decorated gate for a wedding celebration, our friends shared in the joy. They were greeted by the hosts and their youngest daughter. Their eldest son married over a year ago, and just days before our visit, his daughter Sofia was born—a child whose parents wish for her to grow up in her ancestral land.

Poneš: The Antić family endured great tragedy after losing their son, leaving behind three children. The parents fell gravely ill, and the other son struggled with his brother’s loss. During our visit, we prayed together with the family for strength in their ongoing struggle.

Ranilug: The Milanović family welcomed us. Despite difficult life circumstances, they face challenges together. On the faces of the hosts and their son, we saw resilience paired with gentle optimism.

Vrbovac: The Jerinić family, whom we had visited in the fall. Already aware of the father’s health, injured at work and now wheelchair-bound, our friends chose to visit him, his wife, and their sons again, bringing a chess set knowing their love for the game.

Having paid homage to the holy sites and the sufferings of our people, returning to their homes and daily routines, our friends say they are not the same as when they arrived. We thank them once again for their love, prayers, and support. Every visit uplifts and comforts many families in Kosovo and Metohija, and brings us great joy.

We invite you to support other initiatives of our organization that help the people of Kosovo and Metohija.
