Kosovo Pomoravlje Summer School: First Days of Fun, Learning, and Friendship

The Kosovo Pomoravlje Summer School began on Sunday, August 3, with the arrival of children in Štrpce, at the foot of the Šar Mountains. Even though the rain greeted them, the weather couldn’t dampen the atmosphere. During the afternoon, the participants connected through a creative NTC workshop and began forming their first friendships. Curiosity and positive energy quickly replaced the stage fright they had brought with them.

Evening Program: Improvisation, Imitations, and Lots of Laughter

The evening program sparked the children’s imagination. With the support of their teachers, they took part in improvisation games, received roles, and created short performances. One of the highlights was a game where the teachers had to imitate the kids—from jumping and squats to cartwheels and handstands. In this acrobatic showdown, the children were clear winners, to everyone’s delight. The day ended on a cheerful note, with the kids going to bed full of impressions and excitement for what awaited them next.

Starting the Week: Warm-Ups, NTC Workshops, and Chess

Monday kicked off with energizing morning exercises and fresh workshops within the NTC program. Although the weather prevented outdoor activities, the schedule continued smoothly indoors. The children learned about the Netherlands, its culture, and traditions—exploring through games and interactive content. Later in the day, they attended a religious education class and joined a chess workshop that inspired logical thinking and strategic play.

End of the day with a walk and a movie

After the workshops, a short walk was organized, accompanied by the lecturer, so that the children could relax before dinner. The day ended in an atmosphere of unity and tranquility, with a screening of the film “The Nativity of Christ”. The first day of the summer school thus united education, play, spirituality and joy, laying the foundation for everything that follows in the coming days.
