Easter Campaign of Humanitarian Organization Kosovsko Pomoravlje: Let’s Help Stefan, Nikolina and Nikola Have a Happier Childhood!

In the village of Jasenovik, in the municipality of Novo Brdo, on a hill above the village, lives the Vasić family  Saša and Jola with their three young children: Stefan (7), Nikolina (5), and Nikola (3).

The nature surrounding their home is beautiful. Under an old pear tree, the children take turns on a swing, laughing and playing. It’s a scene that restores faith and hope. Yet behind that peaceful image lies a difficult and uncertain daily life.

Life without basic conditions

The Vasić family lives in someone else’s old and deteriorating house, without running water or basic living conditions. All of them sleep in a single room. They carry water in large containers because there is no well at the house. Their only steady income is social assistance. From that modest amount, most of the money goes toward little Nikolina’s medical treatment.

The fight for little Nikolina’s health

Due to delayed growth, Nikolina is receiving hormone therapy. Regular check-ups take place in Kosovska Mitrovica, while the therapy must be collected in central Serbia every 26 days.

Each doctor’s visit is a major challenge and an additional expense, as the family does not own a car. Still, the parents never give up and do everything they can to ensure their daughter receives the treatment she needs.

Saša Is Looking for a Way to Provide for His Children Through His Own Work

Saša is not asking anyone to support his family. His wish is simple – an opportunity to work and provide food and security for his children through his own effort. The area where they live offers no job opportunities other than agriculture. Saša has taken on the greatest responsibility for caring for the children, as his wife is unable to look after them on her own while he would be away at work. This is another reason why agriculture is their only realistic hope for earning an income.

That is why the Humanitarian Organization Kosovsko Pomoravlje is launching an Easter fundraising campaign to help the Vasić family revive their household and no longer worry at least about food and medicine.

What are we raising funds for?

The funds will be used to purchase:

• A cultivator or tractor
• A trailer for the cultivator
• Several heads of livestock

Goal: €10,000

This is not short-term aid. This is an act of kindness that will provide food, milk for the children, and the opportunity for one family in Kosovo and Metohija to survive and live from their own work.

Easter is a time of hope – let’s be someone’s joy
