Christmas packages delivered to children in Binč and Vrbovac

Our organization’s members made sure to brighten the end of the holiday break for the students of Mladen Marković School in Binča and the little ones from Đurđevak Kindergarten in Vrbovac. We visited their school and kindergarten and brought Christmas gift packages, which brought true joy to the children.
In the small branch school in Binča, there are only six pupils from first to fourth grade, including preschoolers, while the kindergarten in Vrbovac has forty children, including kids from nearby villages such as Klokot, Mogila, Grnčar, and Binča.
A child’s smile, gaze, and hug are the clearest signs that our path is the right one. They are the ones who, without even knowing it, remind us of true values and virtues, encouraging us to continue our work with dedication this year as well. That’s why we thank them for their hospitality and warmth, for the play and laughter, and for reminding us of the true meaning of what we do.
Humanitarian work must be based on the belief that all human beings equally deserve dignity and respect, and that the only true progress of a community is when it advances as a whole. Money is the least we can give one another it is needed, just like other material goods but without joint effort, dedicating our time and knowledge, and above all, compassion for those who need help, our attempts to support others would be meaningless.
While striving to follow the most effective and fruitful ways of doing humanitarian work, we must never forget that its foundation is still some small good deed, something we once did sincerely and wholeheartedly, and in return felt joy.
The joy of giving and love for our neighbors must be considered one of the most important pillars of our spirit, while kindness itself is both a civic duty and a responsibility for the well-being of the entire community.
And finally, let us remember the words of Saint Gregory the Theologian:
“By giving to the one born on earth, we give to the One who reigns in heaven.”
