Since the 1999 war, the development of Serbian communities in Kosovo and Metohija has lagged behind other parts of the country. This gap is most visible not only in the economy but also in education.
The reorganization of schools and their relocation to rural areas required significant investment in equipment. Sadly, some school buildings still rely on temporary infrastructure.
Switching to online classes and combining them with in-person lessons proved especially difficult for students and teachers in Kosovo and Metohija. Many children were unable to follow classes simply because they did not have a computer.
With too few computers and tablets available in schools, an entire school year passed while some children were deprived of their basic right to education. To keep lessons going, some dedicated teachers even worked in their homes, individually teaching students who couldn’t attend online classes.
These heroes inspired us to act and start a project to provide computers for children in need.
Staying Connected
Our goal is to donate computers, in cooperation with schools, to students who cannot otherwise follow modern lessons, giving them equal opportunities to learn and grow.
Thanks to our donors, we have already helped many families overcome this serious challenge.
